Front Step of Philadelphia

 Dear Friends at Holland Bible Church,Greetings in Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord!
At Front Step in Philadelphia, most of the children we minister with have deeply difficult lives. One boy, for example, was only 6 years of age when his dad had a massive stroke which left him confined to a wheelchair. With no mother present and no siblings, this boy, now 11 years of age has lived with many challenges that most children never experience. Yet this same boy is present for almost all of our Front Step activities: after-school, Upward basketball, summer camp, away camp.
At all of these activities we always share the love and message of Jesus Christ. Why? Because without Jesus there isn't hope. Many people place their hope in things that will not truly satisfy or give eternal joy. A recent after-school lesson was focused on the fact that God is everywhere. The teacher taught that there is nowhere we can go that we cannot call out to God and know His presence---even in outer space. Before we left for the day, the teacher asked each student to share one place that God can be found. Around the table each young person named some place where God is. This young boy was last to answer and he softly said, "God is in my heart."
He knows the Hope that many never find. We pray his faith will be strong in every circumstance!
