Poem from a Friend

THE REASON
It is the season of giving and receiving
Christmas Eve is a magical night
When peace and love move through us
When “all is calm and all is bright “

Gifts lay beneath the tree
Waiting to be unwrapped
Exchanged with one another
Among ribbons bound and strapped

Keeping in mind the “ reason “
In the essence of Jesus’ birth
When we share the joy tonight
And when HE inherited the Earth

Jesus was born to give us hope
And HE came to show us love
HIS purpose was to enlighten our hearts
Through GODs teachings from above
For GOD gave us HIS only son
To save us from ourselves
It’s not about Santa Clause you see
Or reindeer, toys and elves

It’s about bringing peace into our hearts
And something wholesome to believe in
It’s about bringing love into our lives
And the forgiveness for our sins

It’s not so much that HE was born
It’s more what HE lived and died for
So celebrate HIS birthday now
HE is the key that opens Heavens door

Christ gave us everlasting life
And forgiveness for our sins
It’s why HE came and what HE means
That’s where it all begins

We, humans are like wayward sheep
And we tend to make mistakes
We need a shepherd to guide our souls
The ones that the devil tries to take                                                                                              Guard yourselves and gird your loins       Protect your precious soul

As we exist in flesh and bone
We can still rise above it all Accept Christ’s love into your life
And learn from all HIS teachings
Do the right thing right you see
It’s YOU that he’s been reaching Keep Jesus dwelling in your heart
And HIS lessons in your mind
Keep faith and hope in your life
As our Lord will guide and shine

Remember HE came to save us all
Now, and in our life hereafter
And that splinter in your own eye you see,
May really be a rafter

For, no one is beyond reproach
And no one is above the law
And no one should lie under oath
About the things they did or saw

People live and people die
It’s our reality every day
It’s how we live our lives that matters
And the things we do and say

Do your best, go make mistakes
But, learn your lessons from them
Forgive yourself and those who hurt you
To be accepted into Heaven

Celebrate this Christmas time
Enjoy the holiday season
Remember to keep Christ in Christmas
It’s HIS love, that is the reason.
