Where our we going as a Nation?

Posted on February 1, 2021.

We again find ourselves in another highly divisive election, we tend to draw firm lines between ourselves based on which candidates we support, and that can in turn lead to personal dislike for one another, anger towards those who lead, and eventually division.
As Christians, we have to live in a fine balance; standing for that which is true while seeking unity amongst ourselves whenever possible, standing firm in our faith while showing grace to those who do not, while holding our leaders accountable and praying for their wisdom and well-being.
We should learn from the words of Ezekiel 22:30, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.”
We have to stand in the gap, to lift up our nation with all it favors and faults before the throne of God, and pray that He continues to work in our midst. Below is some data from the Pew Research Center. As I read it I couldn't help but see the parallel in the history in the Old Testament, as the Lords people and there kings drifted away from the word of god there nation declined and raised up when they followed the ways of our lord. Which way are we going to go?
