June 2017

Posted on June 8, 2017.

Here we go into the month of June.  After a somewhat dull, rainy and occasionally cool month of May, we’re ready for a few of those “What is so rare as a day in June” days.  You know - sparkling sunshine, low humidity, warm temperatures.  All the things that go into making you want to get out and take some deep breaths, feast your eyes on the colorful flowers, and perhaps catch a glimpse of a cute little baby critter.

It’s fun to anticipate perfect weather, fun activities and all the joys of the summer season, blessed by our good fortune to be living in this area of this country.   But, let’s be realistic.  It can rain in June; it can be uncomfortably warm or cold.  And our best-laid plans can go awry.  Great expectations can fuel our endurance when the weather or our circumstances are not in agreement with our dreams.

In the end, though, however June turns out, - lovely weather, lots of good times at an Ice Cream Social (like the one at Holland Church on June 11 at 3 p.m.), or rainy and cool, with a few tough challenges thrown in – we can enjoy abundant blessings on a daily basis if we just look past the difficulties and focus on the flowers.  Our God has created a beautiful world.  Each day He is with us, sharing the miracles and beauty, exceeding our expectations.                                                                                                                                                                               My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. Psalm 62:5.
