THANKSGIVING
Here we are in the season of stress. All of a sudden, Thanksgiving looms on the horizon. Can Christmas be far behind?
For those who have responsibilities, plans, priority lists and time manage-ment become uppermost on their minds as each new day dawns.
Ah, but for those who have no responsibilities, each new day brings only expectation and excitement.
On the other hand, for those who have moved beyond responsibilities, and for whom holidays bring only memories, each new day brings sadness or even confusion.
Through all of this, do you detect a loss of the true meaning of why we mark these special days? Can we really enjoy these celebrations through all the frantic activities and stresses?
It seems that our plans for family get-togethers, traditional foods and unique celebrations should bring pleasures without tensions. If only…
Please take time to remember that Thanksgiving invites a time of reflection on all our blessings. Take time to express our gratitude to the Author of our lives and all that is good in our lives. Take time to remember those for whom this holiday is a time of loneliness and hurt. And then enjoy all that food and fellowship. May God bless your celebration and those with whom you share this special time of the year.
