“The Christmas Wedding Ring”
This is a true story about a lost wedding ring. One of our customers was in the store the other day and reminded me of his story. He told me about twenty years ago he and his wife where at a local cut your own Christmas tree farm. They found the tree they liked and cut it down. When they got home he realized his wedding ring was missing. The only thing they thought happened was after cutting the tree down , he took off his gloves and must have pulled the ring off with the glove, he told me he had recently lost a lot of weight back then, and his ring was loose on his finger. Anyway the ring must have fallen out of his glove and was gone, he thought there was no way he'd be able to go back and find it. He said he often thought of buying another but it would not have been the same. So he just went through the rest of his marriage without it. Fast forward about seventeen years his dear wife had passed on in late November just before the Christmas Season. His sister in law was listening to a local radio station, which she rarely listens to, and she heard a public service announcement from a local Christmas tree farm about an employee who while clearing around the bottom of one of the trees, found a wedding ring. They put the announcement on the radio hoping to find the rightful owner. She immediately called him. He when down to the farm the next day and and he remembers it was packed with customers buying trees. The clerk directed him to the owner and he identified the inscription on the inside of the ring but was asked if he could bring back his marriage certificate just to be sure he was the rightful owner. He told me he thinks it was his wife with the help of God, telling him to never forget her. “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known" Luke 12:2
